Humility That Comes From The Heart

The humility that comes from the heart

The humility that comes from the heart knows no tricks. It is an interior openness that is projected onto others in order to recognize them, to offer them respect and trust. It is to have a neutral outlook on the world and know how to appreciate the simple things.

Do you think that today we live in a world where there is humility?

Perhaps we should start by clarifying the term “humility” a bit.

Sometimes we associate human humility with the altruism of people who are able to show it and let go of everything, for the sole purpose of helping their fellow human beings.

However, we cannot reduce humility to these behaviors alone. Humility is inner well-being, an attitude, a way of thinking and feeling things.

Many are those who favor other dimensions, generally valued in modern societies, such as individualism, dependence on equipment, competition, even the “disposable”, or in other words, the fact of consuming and throwing away. at once.

These dimensions hide a trait of subtle selfishness, which is obviously opposed to humility.

Humility, or the power to recognize others

Most people think of themselves before they think of others, they do not hesitate to crush others to meet their needs and satisfy their desires, and thus create a daily life leading them to live their life at full speed.

Often, these people develop what the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman calls “ liquid relationships ”, that is to say friendships or love relationships in which the bonds forged are as fleeting as they are fragile.

This type of behavior denotes a clear lack of self-knowledge, but also of projection, of emotional maturity, and, let’s not be afraid to say it, of humility.

The humility that comes from the heart involves full knowledge of oneself.  It is when we fully know who we are that we can in turn recognize the needs of the other. Humility is the wisest subtlety of empathy; it is knowing how to look at the world with an open mind, in order to capture every nuance, every emotion.

Being open and grateful with others is one of the most basic human values.

We all need to be recognized as people and to be aware of our efforts, our virtues, and our needs.

If parents do not recognize their children, then they are sorely lacking in security and will find it difficult to move forward calmly.

They will have no idea what trust or support can be like, and the dependence they develop on their parents will be as unstable as it is complete.

What about couple relationships?

Having a humble person by his side, able to recognize his own mistakes, to always be sincere, never to be selfish and to know how to notice those little things that make love grow a little more every day within the couple, is undoubtedly the most precious good to which one can aspire.

To forgive is not to be fragile. It is not to bow down to someone who has hurt us. Only the most courageous and humble people practice forgiveness in its wisest form: they forgive in order to free themselves from suffering and move forward with more strength.

When was the last time you forgave something? Forgiveness is not easy, and it is not always possible to do it.

How can we forgive someone who has hurt us on purpose?

Forgiveness is often an excellent clinical tool in individual and couple therapy.

It is the first step towards emotional release, it is the desire to let go of resentment, negative emotions and inner torture.

Forgiving liberates, and it is one of the most beautiful acts symbolizing humility from the heart.

Any hatred, resentment, or anger makes us a slave to suffering, so… why not set ourselves free? Why not forgive?

Being humble of heart is a healthy exercise to practice every day, which can bring great benefits to us.

It is learning to lead a simple life by discovering the value of what is important, namely love, friendship or daily happiness.

It is knowing how to recognize and know how to forgive. It is looking at the world with hope, and having the soul satiny with harmony.
